
The Corporation has not been formed for pecuniary profit or financial gain, and no part of the assets, income, or profits of the Corporation is or shall be distributable to, or insure to the benefit of its directors or officers or any other private shareholder or individual. The substantial part of the activities and purposes of this corporation shall be:
(a) to provide overviews and orientation by which the general public can relate the visual and performing arts and its sub-repertories to other subjects with which they might be more familiar;
(b) to develop repositories of information to be used by amateur and professional artists and musicians in the context of research or performance, or by pure amateurs to enhance personal enjoyment;
(c) to provide a convenient means by which those working in the visual and performing arts and closely related fields can communicate with the public;
(d) to enhance the art forms themselves by providing artistic feedback, criticism, and discussion of the underlying goals and philosophies;
(e) to facilitate the further development of the visual and performing arts and related endeavors by encouraging or supporting artists, scholars or composers working in these idioms.
(f) to provide educational, performance, and viewing opportunities for the general public in the visual and performing arts through the on-site companies, resident artist educators, and an arts academy.
